In Chapter 4 of our Grace Street Victorian renovation, I share how we transformed our dark, uninviting basement into a bright, ultra-functional, five-star Airbnb.

The challenge was clear: how could we design a warm, functional kitchen that kept the Scandinavian aesthetic our clients loved without feeling cold or stark?

For this client, it wasn’t just about laundry. The space needed to function as a mudroom, provide extra kitchen storage and house their homemade canned goods, all with easy access to their vegetable garden. So, we had to make every inch count.

We all love the before and after, but this time, I thought I would try something new. Instead of just taking you through the beginning and the end, I thought, why not share a peek into the DURING.

When we purchased the house, the primary bedroom had a few quirks that I was excited to tackle. First, we HAD to fit in a bathroom, and the question was where.

Early on in our renovation, we decided to replace all the windows to help insulate the house. This made a HUGE difference in the overall brightness and gave us an early glimpse of what the house would eventually look like….

In December of 2018, after months of casually perusing real estate listings, I stumbled upon a house in my dream location, with hidden curb appeal just waiting to be revealed... and it was WAY out of my price range.

What started as a "kitchen refresh" quickly became a major renovation, leaving hardly any room or hall untouched.

Who doesn't love a clean slate? When this client called me to discuss gutting her bathroom and starting fresh, I couldn't wait to get going.

This design doesn’t have anything to do with Marie Kondo, but the pun was too hard to resist. And when designing a small space (like this condo), we employed her ideology.

When the owner of this beautiful Victorian home in the Annex asked me to help her refresh her house, I was thrilled. We brought new life to this tired space without any significant changes, purely cosmetic, with budget in mind.

This reveal has been in the works for what feels like forever. When designing a space outside of the city, the distance causes delays in more ways than one. I decided to wait to photograph the many renovations happening here simultaneously.

It's time for another before & after. This project was hard not to have fun with. I've always loved a good theme party; as it turns out, I also LOVE theme rooms.

This condo went on a transformation journey - from an elderly bachelor pad - to fun and rad! Working with my client's request that everything be all white, we mixed textures and patterns to create this breezy space floating in the clouds.
